This is a recap of OVW TV Episode 792 that will be aired in Louisville on 10/25 and is available online at http://www.ovwrestling.com/tv/792
"Anchorman" Gilbert Corsey is in the ring to interview OUR OVW Director of Operations Trailer Park Trash. Gilbert says TPT is being welcomed back tonight as it's been a while since he's been in the ring. (Although TPT came out last week to check on Mohamed Ali Vaez and Gilbert mentioned that he hadn't been around lately.) TPT says that he lost his father in July and has had to deal with family issues. He says he was close to his father and the loss hit him hard, even contemplating leaving the wrestling business but then decided that the best thing was to get back to the business. TPT says he was real close to his dad and they talked every day, mentioning that his dad passed away on 7/28 after getting sick earlier that month. TPT is getting all choked up talking about this as Michael Titus comes out. Titus tells TPT to get over it and says that TPT is disrespecting everyone by airing his dirty laundry on TV. Titus adds that TPT has simultaneously dismantled a formerly great wrestling company and even killed his own father by being a selfish, narrow-minded POS!! Titus accuses TPT of being so cheap that he used a shoebox instead of a casket!! Here comes OUR OVW Owner "Nightmare" Danny Davis followed by a bevy of OVW personnel. Davis grabs Titus by the jacket but Titus slips away and escapes through the ropes as TPT bows his head in the corner. Gilbert calls for a break as TPT is consoled.
We return to see Davis on the mic, saying that losing a parent is hard and it took its toll on TPT. Davis adds that when we lose a loved one it really hits home, and then thanks the fans for their time.
We go to the announce table with Corsey and "Fan Advocate" Terry Boddie, who are both disgusted with Titus' actions and wonder why this happened. Boddie says TPT showed a lot more restraint than he would have. Gilbert says it would be OK with him if we never see Titus again! OUR OVW Ring Announcer Shannon the Dude introduces the first match.
Match #1: Dapper Dan vs "Primetime" Robbie Walker
Gilbert tells us that Dan asked for this rematch from last week after losing to Walker while also noting that this is the third match between the two, with each having a win. Joe Wheeler is the ref here as Walker rushes the ring and unleashes a flurry of offense. Dan takes a chinbreaker but dodges a Cosmic Kick and rolls out to gather his thoughts. Back in, Dan blocks an armdrag and hammers away on Walker, stomping him in the corner then peppering him with jabs and knocking him to the canvas. Dan grabs Walker by the throat and gives him a backbreaker. Walker gets back up and ducks a lariat then dropkicks Dan before trying another Cosmic Kick. Dan catches Walker's leg and pulls him into a suplex position but like last week, Walker rolls forward. This time Walker only gets 2 and tries another Cosmic Kick but Dan ducks, grabs the leg, and rolls up Walker with the Handful O'Tights for the pin.
Walker initiates a sore loser attack that consists of a single Cosmic Kick that flattens Dan!
OVW Medical Guy is examining Rump Thump's knee in the back, saying that RT did the right thing by resting it because it looks good. RT says the avocados that Medical Guy told him to eat helped too! Body Guy walks up and questions Medical Guy's credentials. Body Guy also points out that he was the one who took out RT's knee and that is the reason Medical Guy is even here. Body Guy says he will take on RT when he is cleared to wrestle. Medical Guy says he has already cleared RT so it’s on for tonight!
Out to the ring comes the No Class Connection (Leon Shelly & Deonta Davis). Davis tries to rap on the mic but is interrupted by Michael (not PS) Hayes. Davis is not pleased with being interrupted but Hayes says no one cares what they have to say. Hayes acknowledges that they are trying to make a name for themselves but they are going about it the wrong way, suggesting that when they step in the ring to work their asses off and not to come out rapping. Davis is offended by this and tells Hayes to apologize or they will put the boots to the man with one leg! Hayes says that there is one dog that protects this yard and they are looking at him! Davis gets all up in Hayes' face and shoving takes place. Hayes fires up and dispatches both Davis and Shelly from the ring. Hayes then says there is a guy sitting at home with something that belongs to him-OUR OVW TV Champion Chris Silvio. Hayes admits that Silvio caught him slipping and took advantage and pinned him in the ring but he is here and ready for a rematch so that he can get the title back.
A clip is shown of Silvio sitting alone in the back with the TV title belt. Silvio says that he is the most contemporary wrestler in OVW and happens to be the "worlds" TV champion which kind of puts him at the top of the mountain. He says that for so long no matter who was on the roster, he always had to scratch and claw to get to that spot. Here in 2014, he tells everybody watching that's never going to happen again. He is not appearing in the ring on TV this week but will be in Elizabethtown, KY on 10/25 to defend the title thus everybody who hates him and wants him to go away will have to pay their hard-earned money to see him. Silvio always wanted people to look up to him but he's no Jamin Olivencia and he's no Michael Hayes, so the people have decided to make him a villain. He says he will play that part but ain't going nowhere without the belt.
Match #2: "Big Cheese" Raul Lamotta & David Lorenz vs TerreMex (Randy Terrez & "Mexicutioner" Roberto DeLuna
Scruffy Ref is in charge as Gilbert lauds TerreMex as being the most well-rounded team in OVW. Gilbert also mentions that Lamotta has been testing out new partners lately but seems to be frustrated with Lorenz, who gets shoved out to center ring to start the match. Boddie mentions that Lamotta is laughing at Lorenz as he gets chopped hard by DeLuna and generally worked over to start.
Lamotta reaches in and yanks Terrez down by the hair before tagging himself in. Lamotta hits a short arm clothesline then tags himself right back out. Lorenz kind of falls on Terrez for a cover then gets back up only to miss an elbow drop. DeLuna comes in to spinebuster Lorenz as Lamotta walks to the back, claiming that Lorenz shows no respect! DeLuna holds up Lorenz so that Terrez and plant him into the mat and pin him.
Gilbert says it's a matter of when, not if, TerreMex will get a tag title shot.
Medical Guy is in the back talking to Mohamed Ali Vaez, saying that he has looked over all the scans and images and concludes that there is lots of damage to Vaez' brain. He tells Vaez not only can he not wrestle tonight, but will have to quit wrestling altogether! Medical Guy suggests that Vaez could take some ancillary position in the business. Vaez has his head in his hands as Medical Guy starts his tale of being in the business for ten years and being trained by Dusty, etc. Vaez stands up and yells, saying he doesn't care who trained Medical Guy and that he has wasted ten years of his life! Vaez walks away but encounters the Congregation (Rev. Stuart Miles, "Altar Boy" Jade Dawson, & "Apostle" Jake Glasure) in the doorway. Miles tells Vaez that whatever bad news he has received, with faith all things are possible. Vaez keeps on walking.
Miles is in the ring with Ryan Howe's guitar. Gilbert believes that he should investigate Miles' background (after all, sweeps are coming up pally!!) as it pertains to being a pastor. Miles does not say "hello sinners" but says "hello everyone". His Good Word today is "humility" as it takes a man to stand in front of someone that he has wronged and say he's sorry. He calls out Howe, adding that he has instructed Dawson and Glasure to stay in the back. Howe comes out with a guitar case and opens it to reveal Miles' Good Book. Miles says he is sorry and wants to trade, so Howe motions for him to put the guitar in the case and close it. Miles complies then asks for the book, so Howe tosses it to him. Naturally, Dawson and Glasure run out and attack Howe from behind but the Wild Boyz ("The Teflon Don from Boca Raton" Eddie Diamond & "Party Starter" Bud Dwight) come out and clear the ring. Miles is shown standing at the entrance holding up the guitar while the book is left in the ring for Howe to pick up. So all this was for naught.
Match #3: The Body Guy (w/Big Jon Body) vs Rump Thump
Joe Wheeler is the ref here as RT stares down Big Jon. Body Guy immediately goes after the knee but RT manages to get away. RT does some armworking until Body Guy throws him to the mat. Body Guy misses a kneedrop that was aimed at RT's knee and RT resumes armworking, finishing it off with making a wish with Body Guy. RT misses a splash and Body Guy tries grapevining the leg but RT kicks him away then hits the Rump Thump (the move) for the pin.
Big Jon initiates a "my partner didn't win attack", driving RT's knee into the mat. RT appears to be in pain as Medical Guy comes out to check on him.
The camera pans over a line of people in the back who are being addressed by OUR OVW Senior Official "Paragon of Virtue" Josh Ashcraft. (Hey, there's a female in the line!!) Ashcraft says he didn't get to his position in OVW by being a gofer, instead he was a go-getter! Ashcraft wants the group to listen and learn from him, since he made senior official by beating Chris Sharpe, who they will never have the pleasure of meeting thanks to him. Ashcraft is talking down to some unseen "big beefy guy" when Timmy Danger walks up from behind and whacks Ashcraft with a chair then tells the class that they are dismissed!
Match #4: One-half of OUR OVW Tag Team Champions Shiloh Jonze vs Mr. Marvelous Melvin Maximus
Jonze is out wearing glasses as Nick Dumeyer Ref is in charge here. Gilbert mentions that Titus was removed from the building earlier. Also notable is that Jonze's partner Eric Locker is not here tonight. Jonze attacks at the bell with chops but Melvin hulks up and clubs away on Jonze. OUR OVW Champion "Mr. 1859" Cliff Compton comes out to the announce table as Melvin hiptosses Jonze to the apron. Compton says he is out here to scout Melvin, adding that he thought that they were friends until Melvin interfered in his match last week. Gilbert inquires about strategy to which Compton says that Melvin is a big guy but he's wrestled bigger guys, so he will tire out then knock out Melvin. Meanwhile, Jonze comes off the top but Melvin catches him and sideslams him. Melvin misses a splash and Jonze jumps on his back to go for a sleeper as Compton says it feels great to be the champ again and he doesn't plan on giving it up anytime soon. Compton also notes that the OVW title belt is nicer than Gilbert's four Emmys! Compton does acknowledge that Melvin had made great progress in his short career but is still much less experienced compared to himself. After Melvin slows down and staggers a bit with Jonze on his back, he squashes Jonze in the corner to make him let go. Jonze tries to climb back on but Melvin snapmares him then gives him a Samoan drop. Melvin charges but Jonze sidesteps and Melvin rolls out to the floor. Jonze follows and beats on Melvin, who then whips Jonze into the announce table. Jonze hits the Eyepoke of Doom and grabs the belt but Compton confronts him about taking it and snatches it away. Jonze slugs Compton and heads to the ring. Compton grabs the belt and climbs in the ring to hit Jonze. Melvin is also back in the ring as Jonze ducks and Compton hits Melvin with the belt, laying him out on the mat for the DQ.
Nick Dumeyer Ref checks on the fallen Melvin as the show goes off.
THOUGHTS: It felt like there was stuff happening at random this week with Titus just walking out and ripping TPT then Hayes' confrontation with the No Class Connection before he challenges Silvio. Where was Locker this week? (especially with both Titus and Jonze coming out) I enjpyed Compton at the announce table. The obvious highlight of the show for me was Danger's chairshot on Ashcraft. Overall, I wasn't sure what to make of this episode, so I'll give a slight thumbs down.
