From Larry Goodman:

Anarchy Wrestling returned to action in Cornelia, GA with an uneven television taping.

Anarchy is usually very good about bringing their shows to a peak with the main event. That was definitely not the case at this show. The high points were matches two and three and it was downhill from there.

Stryknyn defeat Billy Buck in an excellent match to become the number one contender for the heavyweight title held by BJ Hancock.

Todd Sexton and Bobby Moore, now on the same page as a purely babyface team, retained the tag titles over BJ Hancock and the rapidly improving Lars Manderson in a 20 minute match that had a really fun energy about it. The time flew by.

The building got quiet during a main event (Elite vs. Urban Assault Squad vs. Mikael Judas & Azrael) that looked great on paper. My best guess is that the fans didn’t want to see UAS in this match. I know I didn’t. They wanted to see Judas & Azrael kick ass on The Elite. UAS has been booked into no man’s land. The fans have grown to love them again, but Todd Sexton & Bobby Moore are the babyface champions, and Judas, Azrael and Geter are now cast at the dragon slayers of The Elite. Setting the UAS issue aside, there's something about the feud between the monster factions that hasn’t been clicking for a while now.

A bunch of stuff was set up for September 27, and two thing that were not mentioned are  confirmed for Fright Night: the cage is going up and Gunner will be in the house.

The crowd was whittled down to the hardcores with just 80 in attendance. The Georgia Bulldogs were in the 4th quarter of a close game at bell time.

Slim J said that snake-in-the grass CB Suave was in for beatdown for costing him the Young Lion’s Title.

Out came Miss Rachael with new Young Lion’s Champion Joey Rhymer, Anarchy Heavyweight Champion BJ Hancock and Lars Manderson. Rachael told J that he couldn’t handle the truth – he lost to a superior competitor and he was part of the past, too old to be in the game, and she was there to give him some tough love because sometimes it’s time to know when you’re past your prime.

Rhymer was lording it over J and got punched in the face for his insolence. A beatdown from Rachael’s men ensued. Hancock laid J out with the piledriver. Alex Avgerinos hit the ring and had his shoulder driven into the post by Manderson. Rachael called for a ref to start the first match….

(1)Young Lion’s Champion Joey Rhymer (with Miss Rachael & BJ Hancock & Lars Manderson) defeated Alex Avgerinos in 4:10. Rhymer worked over the injured shoulder. As soon as Avgerinos got the upper hand, Rachael and Hancock ran distraction and Rhymer nailed Avgerinos with a slingshot double knee for the pin. Match was OK. Avgerinos had an off night. Rhymer’s offense continues to improve, and he’s such an annoying little prick.

(2) Stryknyn defeated Billy Buck to become the number one contender for the Anarchy Heavyweight Championship in 11:21.
Being that this was for a title shot, Stryk wasn’t above punching Buck in his bad ribs and choking him with his belt. Stryk dropped Buck with a series of corner clotheslines. Out of nowhere, Buck rebounded out of the corner with his guns blazing. They traded stiff shots. Stryk did the Juggalo version of hulking up. Stryk tried for the Tourniquet but Buck scrambled to the ropes. Stryk used a uranage to get the Tourniquet cinched in. Buck reversed it with a figure four. Buck was hitting his signature moves on the comeback. When Buck tried for the spinebuster, Stryk countered with a waterwheel slam and set up for the spear. Buck countered with an inside cradle and hit the spinebuster. Buck set up for the superkick. Stryk countered with the FFD for a killer false finish. Stryk tried the spear again, but Buck caught him flush with the superkick. The crowd went nuts when Stryk kicked out. Hancock attempted to stick his nose into the match and got cut off by Buck. Stryk then speared Buck for the 1-2-3.

The Hancock vs. Stryknyn title match was announced for September 27.

A beauty of a match. – fast, crisp action, nice chemistry. crowd factions vocal for both men, pops of the chain for the false finishes. Babyface vs. babyface has a history of working poorly in this building, but rarely has the story surrounding the match been this good. Buck and Stryk want the title so badly they can taste it, but they only want it fair and square, so they’re watching each others backs for Hancock.

Postmatch – Hancock looked on with an approving smile. A handshake and show of respect between the competitors followed.

(3) Todd Sexton & Bobby Moore defeated BJ Hancock & Lars Manderson (with Miss Rachael & Joey Rhymer) to retain the Anarchy Tag Team Championship in 21:10. Moore went full-fledged babyface at the last show. The fans clearly are embracing the move, and tonight, Moore showed the right kind of fire at the right moments to solidify the position. It was also the best Manderson has looked in an Anarchy ring. He was relaxed and fluid. Rachael was wearing the heavyweight title around her waist. Prematch, Sexton made sure to get deep under Rachael’s ivory skin. After a screw up, Sexton and Moore teased dissension much to Hancock’s delight. But the champs double teamed him instead. Rhymer got involved. The champs tossed Rhymer over the top onto Manderson and Hancock. Moore and Sexton busted out the Steiner Brothers pose. At this point, referee Ken Wallace ejected Rhymer from ringside. The heels got heat on Moore. Hancock went for the piledriver, but Sexton broke it up with a double stomp. Sexton took the hot tag and tattooed Hancock with rapid fire blows. When Sexton countered the piledriver, Hancock’s brain went haywire and left him wide open for Sexton’s crossface. Manderson had to pull Hancock to the ropes. Rachael’s men got the advantage and it looked bad for the champions. Hancock was fixing to piledrive Moore on the floor when Buck showed up and superkicked him. Moore then entered the ring and blasted Manderson with a discus elbow. All Sexton had to do was make the cover. The crowd was a highly entertained by this match. It had lots of moving parts and they all worked.

Postmach - gleeful victory laps by Sexton.

(4) In a fatal four way, Jeremy Foster defeated Kevin Blue and Supernatural and Trever Aeon in 8 minutes to earn a title match of his choosing.
Aeon’s performance was one of the bright spots of the show. The silent, opaque character has been replaced by a heelish personality that draws people in. Aeon’s use of facial expressions is making him way more interesting. Aeon was doing the sneaky opportunistic stuffy and said “Do not interrupt artist when he is creating.” The three babyfaces finally had enough of that and took turns thrashing him. This match had plenty of action, but the quality was erratic – either spot on or sloppy and not much in between. Supernatural did an insane splash from the top to the floor on Aeon. Why risk taking yourself out of the match, not to mention possible loss your life? Foster hit flying knees to take care of Blue. Supernatural tried to reenter with a top rope double stomp, but Foster got out of the way and connected with a flying knee.

Announcer Jonathan Feltner stopped Foster on his way out to ask him what title he was going after. Foster said the real question was what title was he not going after? Bill Behrens put his two cents in and said how about a Young Lion’s title shot in two weeks? The fans popped for it and Foster said the people had made the decision for him. It was an awkward segment. Good thing the fans like Foster as much as they do.

Feltner called the Laredo Kid to the ring for an interview. Laredo’s vocabulary is evidently limited to “Si” and “No” so Feltner had to help him out. Laredo isn’t a kid anymore and shall be known as El Grande Laredo. “New Face of Old School” Mike Posey came out and stated the obvious – that Laredo wasn’t from Mexico. Posey said he would show Laredo how old school was done.

(5) El Laredo Grande defeated Mike Posey via count out in 5:55. Posey was having a good old school time toying with Laredo until an amused Brodie Chase came to ringside. Chase made light of Posey’s old school nonsense and totally threw him off his game. Laredo scored close near falls on the discombobulated Posey. Chase and Posey started jawing at ringside. Chase wasn’t finished and grabbed Posey by the tights resulting in the count out.

The issue of who is more old school will be resolved verbally on September 27 in a debate between Chase and Posey with Behrens as the moderator. It’s a goofy story for sure, but Anarchy needs an injection of comedy as a change of pace, and it’s a great role for Chase.

(6) The Elite (Iceberg & Jagged Edge) defeated Urban Assault Squad (Shadow Jackson & Nemesis) and Mikael Judas & Azrael in a three-way elimination match in 12:48 to become the number one contender for the Anarchy Tag Team Championship. UAS got the loudest babyface pop of the night. The power of Judas was in full effect early on. Anarchy’s most feared chop artists, Azrael and Nemesis, went toe-to-toe. The exchange wasn’t up to their usual sadistic standard. Jagged pulled the ropes down on Azrael, who took a major league spill over the top. Elite and UAS took turns wearing Judas down, but in the end, Nemesis was pinned by a Judas chokeslam at 9:14. The Elite were all over Judas with high impact moves. The crowd briefly showed life with a “Mikael” chant. Azrael came to his partner’s rescue but was overwhelmed by a Jagged Edge powerslam and an Iceberg splash. There was nothing wrong with the action, but there was a lot wrong with the crowd response.

Elite vs. Sexton & Moore  for the tag titles is set for September 27.

Geter decked Berg and squared off with Jagged Edge. He challenged Geter to a match on the spot. – a bold and brave move on the surface but no so much with Berg at ringside.

(7) Geter defeated Jagged Edge (with Iceberg) via DQ in 1:59. Geter engulfed Jagged with two massive freight train corner splashes. Berg interfered with a corner splash of his own for the DQ.

The Elite were doing a number on Geter until Judas and Azrael made the ring clearing save. It was deathly quiet in the building and a very flat ending to the show.
